Lithuanian Citroën Club "CITRINA""...after 10 minutes, you never want to drive one again. After an hour, you never want to drive anything else again..." (c)unknown author about Citroën CX So, so, so... The idea is old, but the club is pretty young ;) Actually it became official just in the end of year 2000. We are trying to gather up Citroën fans of Lithuania to one community. It is going slow, but it is going right ;) The begining of all this was in June, 2000. Although there were some attempts like Citroën parade in February, 1999, the movement remained unorganized and scattered. This situation should be fixed and certain Vytautas Bruzga, a proud owner of CX25 TRD Turbo from Vilnius, took the initiative. His decision was supported by his wife and Darius Jonaitis - owner of DS21 Pallas (from 1985!). The first step was creating this website and it was presented to the cyberspace on the 12th of June, 2000. It was like a public proclamation to the Citroën fans of Lithuania. Few days later Andrius Navalinskas (BX14 RE) joined us representing second biggest town of Lithuania - Kaunas. Then appeared the mailing list and people began to join the virtual Citroën club of Lithuania. The name for it was chosen "CITRINA" - in english that's "LEMON". Why lemon? As you may notice "Citroën" and "CITRINA" are very alike and because of this many lithuanians used to call Citroën as Citrina. It is funny and provocative name altogether - it's a challenge. And challenge was the tradition of Citroën for a long time. During next few months there were couple of meetings in Vilnius. We decided to legitimate club - register it as official non-profit public organization. We checked out the corresponding laws, prepared statute and agreed to hold the constituent assembly in Kaunas - the most convenient place to gather from every place of Lithuania. Constituent assembly was held in 2000.11.05 and you may read about it here. "CITRINA" - The Citroën Club of Lithuania was officialy registered by the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Lithuania according to the order of minister G. Bartkus in 2000.12.19.
